Anil Kapoor is Hollywood bound!

After more than three decades in Bollywood, Anil Kapoor is now heading West. The TV show 24 that opened in the US in February, has fetched him more “worthwhile” roles. “There are no mavericks in Hollywood,” he asserts. “They are all filmmakers and it’ll be great,” says the actor. “Thanks to movies like Slumdog Millionaire, Hollywood does not stereotype Indian actors as brown fluff anymore.”

In 24, Kapoor plays President Omar Hassan and says he listened to a lot of speeches on Youtube to add to his knowledge of Middle Eastern characters. He is however wary of doing similar roles in Hollywood.

August is a big month for Kapoor with two career-altering projects lining up. 24 will premiere on Indian TV on August 23. Before that, on August 6, his second home production, Aisha will launch daughter Rhea as a producer. The film features his other daughter, Sonam, in the lead.

“I’m anxious. August is a big month for us. I wasn’t around much during the making of Aisha since I was filming 24 but Rhea had things under control. She pretty much did everything on her own,” he admits. “The kids did a brilliant job. I only guided and they sailed the ship solo.
