Shah Rukh Khan- Kareena Kapoor starrer upcoming flick ‘Ra.1’, which is a science fiction involving the use of high gadgetry and special effects, being directed by Anubhav Sinha, has been sold for a huge amount of Rs175 crores to Eros International even before its completion.
The movie has Shah Rukh Khan playing the character of a superman for the first time in his bollywood career, while ravishing Kareena Kapoor plays his wife with an eight-year-old child.
The film is being produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s own production house Red Chillies Entertainment and Hollywood’s technicians have been roped in to create that superb effect on the audience. The huge amount has surprised the industry watchers, and this is especially so, as it comes after the debacle of two biggies—Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Kites’ and Abhishek Bachchan’s ‘Raavan’.
Sources in the Industry say that Shah Rukh Khan’s another film ‘Don 2’ has also been sold to Reliance Big Picture for as high price as Rs 125 crores.
This Farhan Akhtar’s sequel to his first hit film of the same name is yet to go on the floors for the shooting but distributors have already bought its rights. ‘Don 2’ has Priyanka Chopra playing the lead opposite Shah Rukh Khan.
Trade sources say that Shah Rukh Khan’s films generally bring good revenue to the distributors and that is the reason they are willing to invest crores of rupees on his upcoming movies.
Even an average flick, that stars King Khan, is able to recover its cost and earn handsome profit for makers of the flick, while others’ movies put them in huge losses(remember ‘Blue’ ‘Chandni Chowk To China’, ‘Kites’, ‘Raavan’ etc).

Presently, Shah Rukh is busy with the shooting of his upcoming flick ‘Ra 1’ in London. Arjun Rampal, who is also a close friend of King Khan, plays an important character in the film.
Insiders say that Arjun even went bald for his character in the film to infuse it with a touch of realism.
